First Practice at - Redford Cavalry Barracks Parade Square and later Edinburgh Castle

It probably sounds weird to the uninitiated, but it is quite an honour to be asked to rehearse and drill on the parade square of the legendary Redford Barracks adjacent to the Edinburgh Castle.  Very prestigious and  historied location.  Important to the formation and management of Scottish regiments over the years and home to many who served their nation in good times and bad.  Quite a place!!

This is the front entrance to the Redford Cavalry Barracks of the Edinburgh Castle.
So many great pipers roamed these halls over the centuries.

Grateful for the food provided, but it was really poor quality.  We had fish and chips and one of the fellows said "the fish must have been one of the last ones caught by the Apostles"   The kitchen definitely wasn't well prepared for the volume of guests.  Too bad!

About 14 bands in total.  Getting ready for the afternoon rehearsal
